Did I mention this takes place in the town of Lost Wages (Las Vegas)? Oh, ho ho. Within the first 10 minutes of playing the game, you’re telling Larry to “use toilet” where he proceeds to take a dump while reading a newspaper. Actually, that’s probably a blow-up doll. Indeed, that’s the whole point of the game - you have 24 hours for Larry to get some…thing. Larry Laffer was THE original 40 Year Old Virgin. Is it something you’d want your daughter playing? Probably not, but if you don’t take it too seriously (Sierra didn’t seem to until the revenue figures rolled in) then you can have a pretty good laugh. Secondly, it splattered adult content onto people’s computer screens in a way never really conceived of previously: Larry provided a very healthy dose of bathroom humor and raunchy male chauvinism to a mostly sexually repressed male audience.
